Classwork Year 12, week beginning Feb 12

Designing organisational documents using a PC.

The lesson from today (Tuesday) is here
All work is to be kept in a folder on the 'itglobal' drive. You should also keep a back-up copy as well.
Remember your homework was to finish up to the part where you have saved a template, and started working on your styles.
You can send me your file at my email. You should also have signed up for your blog.

If you are having trouble,
this site should help you.

Please don't worry if you cannot get it exactly right, I just want to see an effort!

Blogger sign up help

This video tutorial shows you how to make a blogger account.
You should get a Google email account, called "gmail" before you sign up for blogger.

Why?

Blogger and Google are part of the same company, and it is easier to login.

You will also need a gmail account for class writing work we will be doing.

Week 2, Year 12.

There is a small list of links on the right which can help your English.

Learning something in a new language is like trying to drive and eat an ice cream at the same time...it is possible, but it's not easy and it can get messy!

The brain has to work very hard to learn and do at the same time, and that is why you become upset when you think you will NEVER understand computers. It is also why you become very sleepy when you try to read in English after a hard day living in English.

HINT: Go to pages written in your language which explain the processes we are studying. For example, if you needed to find out more about inserting tables into a word document, then you would use the keywords: 'inserting tables in microsoft word'. Once you know the vocab in your native language it will be MUCH easier to translate and perform the tasks.
[Unfortunately my Chinese is terrible, so I won't be much help if you still cannot understand the Chinese site.]

I want you to feel comfortable with the computers first, then we'll start work on describing it all in English to answer exam questions.
